Brief Bio & Photos
Every musician has an objective, some are in it for the money, others for the art, most of them, though, including LJ, are in it for a good time. He began his musical career alongside his father. "My pops is straight out of Jamaica, and when I was young he got me a little drum kit and we would play together at family reunions as a rhythm section, him on bass, me on drums." Seeing the reactions he got from playing for friends, L took his talents to the streets and began performing at reggae and hip hop parties as an MC and drummer. "The rapping thing just came from hanging on the block. I would spit my little rhymes with my homies, mostly to girls or just freestyles, never really making any songs." Despite a lack of material, LJ became a regularly hired act for small backyard jams and block parties, eventually landing a gig at an international festival thrown by CUNY schools, where Emile first approached him about joining 7he 7eam. LJ is described as the lighthearted member of the group, preferring to simply rock the house than create complex compositions. "I'm just trying to have fun, make some money and meet ladies in the process, miss me with all that other stuff."
